BIG SIS!
I found out I was pregnant on my 30th birthday. Jokingly I told Craig a few days before "wouldn't it be a great birthday present if I was pregnant?" Well, I took a pregnancy test right before jumping on the plane to head to New Zealand and it was positive. I don't think Craig was fully convinced so two more tests in NZ later and we felt confident it was true! We re-routed our trip a little (to avoid the wineries we had planned on visiting) and had a fabulous trip together as a family.
We told Kay over the weekend that she was going to be a big sister. She is VERY excited. We decided to wait until I was 16 weeks to make sure everything looked good before we told her. The doctor had some concerns early on so I have spent about 7 weeks on bed rest. We had our 16 week ultra sound on Friday and the little baby is happy as can be. After telling Kay the baby has received numerous kisses from Kay. Every night before bed and when Kay wakes up she wants to kiss the baby.
We are really enjoying the healthcare here. The doctor has been fabulous and the healthcare system is run great. We feel very fortunate that we are in good hands! I tour the hospital that I am supposed to deliver at on Wednesday. I am looking forward to seeing how different it is from the US.
We are going to find out the gender this time. We are doing this pregnancy the "Hong Kong way". The doctor said well over 90% of the people in Hong Kong find out the gender. Here, you get an ultrasound at every appointment so it is hard not to know. Plus, we have a closet full of little girl clothes in the US that we need to know if we need to bring to Hong Kong or not! We will know in a few weeks so place your bets!
We are excited to meet our "Year of the Dragon" baby in November. The official due date is Nov 23, 2012. Pray that this little one will decide to stay in a little longer than Kay did!!
