First Bath...

Kay has had her first real bath now that her chord has fallen off. She did not really like it much. I think it is because she was cold (she gets that from her mother).

Kay also met her Great Aunt Pat for the first time this weekend. Pat was so kind and brought us a feast of veggies from the market.

Craig and I escaped from the house and went for another walk this morning. We had to keep it short because we waiting a little too long and it was getting pretty hot.

I found this picture of "the grandmas" that I forgot to post when Kay's great grandma was visiting. I love how they are looking at Kay.

One Month Old...

Kay had her one month appointment today at the doctor. At one month (or -2 weeks adjusted age) Kay is 6 lbs 4.5 oz and 20 inches long. Kay is currently 3% in weight and head circumference and 10% in height for one month old babies. Kay is still growing about an ounce a day.

I am going to try taking a picture each month with Kay beside the same stuffed animals to show her grow. Kay's aunt Malia did that with her cousins and it was really fun to see them get bigger and bigger.

A special gift...

Kay's great grandmother Baker knitted her this blanket. Grandma Baker knitted each of her grandchildren a blanket for their first child. Unfortunately, Grandma Baker passed away before Kay's blanket was finished. Emily's cousin found someone who was willing to help finish the project. What a special gift that we will treasure forever!

We took our first walk around the neighborhood tonight. Kay seemed to like the carrier that Grandma and Grandpa got her. The doctor said now that she is 38 weeks or "term" we can start taking short walks around the neighborhood. It was very nice to get out of the house and get some fresh air.

Kay got to meet her Great aunt Robin, uncle Spencer and cousin Clay this weekend as well. What a lucky girl to have so many visitors!

Four Generations...

Kay is one lucky girl. She had her great grandma here from Nebraska for two weeks visiting and giving her love, kisses, and snuggles. I was very lucky growing up and my great grandmother in my life until I was about 23 years old. She lived to be 103 years old! We took many four generation pictures through the years and decided to continue the tradition with Kay. Here is our first four generation picture.

Do I look bigger? Kay had a doctor appointment yesterday and weighed in at 5lbs 6 oz. She is getting bigger everyday!!

Kay's first photo shot...

Kay had a doctor appointment on Thursday and she weighed in at 5 pounds- big girl! She is now up to 18.5 inches long. She goes back next week for another weigh in. The doctor is impressed that she is averaging about an ounce a day weight gain. She has been keeping mom busy with all of her feedings because she likes to eat about every two hours.

Mom and dad have been adjusting to life with a newborn. The hardest thing for us right now is not being able to get out and do anything. She is so small that she looks so uncomfortable in the car seat/stroller right now. Hopefully in a few weeks we can at least get out for walks around the neighborhood. We have been taking turns escaping to run errands and getting out into "the real world".

We took some pictures of Kay today to try to show how tiny she is.
