The big day has come and gone. Marissa is officially 1 year old. We had a nice, small celebration with nana, pops, grandma, and our family.
Cupcakes were a team effort this year. Grandma, Kay, Marissa and I made the cupcakes the night before. Craig and Kay frosted, and Kay and I decorated.
Opening presents. The ribbons were the most fun. She got very cute clothes from nana/pop & grandma, toy purse with accessories from Scott, Marcia, and kids, and a wall cross from Poppy/Linda.
Marissa loves to hold anything up to her ear and pretend bable to it like a phone. She was REALLY excited when she opened her purse from her cousins and it had her own toy phone.
Skyping with GG while we open gifts. What a lucky baby to have a great grandma who can skype with her!
GG watching over skype while we sing Happy Birthday. Yes, GG even had a hat on (see the hat on the iPad? Kay's idea.)
Again, hats and necklaces were Kay's idea.
Frosting = LOVE.
Cake = no thank you.
Another picture of our little explorer. She is into everything. Her best trick these days is blowing a kiss whenever you say "I love you". Sweet baby. Shortly before her 1st birthday she started taking several steps without holding on. She can now walk about 20 steps before falling. She is getting braver everyday.
