We had the pleasure of camping with Nana and Pops a few weekends ago. Kay once again loved camping. She really enjoyed walking between campsites. To continue our camping trend, within the first hour she tripped on a tree root and scrapped the side of her face (as you will see in the pictures). It rained a lot in the evenings and during nap. We thankfully stayed dry in our tent. The rain showers made for fun times splashing in the puddles. Kay learned how to throw rocks in the river with her daddy and enjoyed opening a few birthday presents. Last year we went camping the weekend before her birthday as well. It looks like we are starting a family tradition. It is so hard to believe that she was only crawling at that time!

Big girl!
Kay was such a big girl over the weekend. It seems as if a light bulb switched on in her head and she really "got" potty training. I had her in panties most of the weekend and we really only had a few accidents. As long as I remembered to remind her to go she used the bathroom most of the day. It sounds like daycare did not go as smoothly (judging from the bag of clothes waiting for me). I am guessing this is because she was so distracted, but I am hopeful we can continue the trend again this weekend. She gets so proud of herself when she goes. She jumps up, looks in the potty and says "YAY" while clapping her hands in excitement. I am guessing the excitement comes from her copying us saying YAY and clapping! Her favorite part is getting to flush the toilet afterwards. I can't wait for her to get the hang of it on the baby toilet so we can graduate her to the big one. We will see if our good luck continues. I thought I would let her use it while she is excited about it. I am afraid it is going just be a phase though...

Fun with Friends...
Craig, myself, and my Lindsay had the pleasure of hosting a baby shower for one of my best friends and her husband a few weeks ago. The best part of the weekend was having a reunion with a lot of my college roommates. Kay and her friend Addaline had a blast together. Laurel so badly wanted to be in the mix and in a few more months she will be able to keep up. Kay loved baby Benton. She kept wanting to peek in his car seat and watch him. We (Craig) smoked BBQ for everyone and lots of yummy sides. The saddest part was having to say goodbye to everyone when the weekend ended!
More Mother's Day Photos
Here are some more photos from our mother's day weekend. I love the pictures of Charlie and Kay letting go of the balloon. No, my brother and I did not mean to get the same car. I can hear him now saying "stop copying me!" hahaha. When our car was totaled we had only a few days to buy a new one. Being that Craig and I are both very tall, still have a need for car seats, and only buy used cars our choices were pretty limited. We feel very fortunate that we again (yes, this is our second time in a year) were able to get a car in good shape. I will forever have a special spot in my heart for my volvo wagon, but for now, I have joined the land of the mini van (that happens to be the same color as Scott's). Once I got over the "driving a school bus feeling" I can say I do love the sliding doors.
