Kay's Due Date...

Saturday was Kay's official due date. She is "unofficially" two days old today! It is hard to believe it has been 6 weeks already.

Kay went to grandma and grandpa's house twice this week. Grandma and Grandpa watched Kay while we went to Chapel Hill to look at a car. Sadly, we think it is time to retire our "mobile" as we lovingly call the green '95 Camry with missing door handle. No car yet, but we are on the hunt. Craig has an equation of requirements for the used cars we buy (miles, resale value calculation, etc.)

Kay also got to hang out with her aunt Marcia, uncle Scott, and cousin Charlie on Sunday. They were in town for the weekend and we had a family lunch (although we had to eat in stages to man the kids- we decided we will get better at timing everything with practice). We also used skype and called Kay and Charlie's Great Grandma Herse and Great Great Uncle Chuck and Aunt Harriet (my dad's aunt and uncle) in Nebraska. They loved seeing the kids. Kay was asleep the entire time and Charlie sat still for maybe a minute!

Charlie just looked at Kay. He didn't understand why he could not touch the baby. He just watched her and would point. I think they are going to have fun in a few years together! Here is a picture with grandma and grandpa with the grand kids. It is amazing how quickly their house was torn apart between having Charlie's toys everywhere and all of Kay's baby gear!

This week was pretty uneventful. We went back to the doctor again and Kay was 6 lbs 11 oz on Monday. We had an unofficial weighing at home and she is now 7 lbs. It has been rainy in the evenings so we have not been able to take too many walks around the neighborhood.

Kay can't wait for next weekend when her Nana flies in town to help babysit so we can go to our friend's wedding and all the festivities!
