21 week ultrasound

We had our 21 week ultrasound last week. Everything looked great. Craig and I are both sad that it will most likely be our last ultrasound. The tech measured all the important body parts to make sure everything looked healthy. We saw two hands, two feet, all chambers of the heart, etc. Because we do not want to know the sex of the baby she avoided that area. When she was measuring the legs and feet Craig and I kept asking her if they were longer than normal. We could tell she was trained well to not scare any parents because she kept saying "everything is within normal limits". We both laughed saying- look at us, we are not "normal" for height we wouldn't be surprised if it had long legs.

Craig and I keep catching each other call it a "she" or "he". We will stop and call each other out- "Did you just say he??". Its our own little game we have going on trying to predict the sex.

Almost 22 weeks...

Well, I am just about to start my 22 week. I have been calling pediatricians this morning trying to pick a doctor for this little one. Craig laughs at me because I have my to-do list on our refrigerator of things I want to get done before the baby comes. We are slowly, but surely checking things off. Although we are no closer to picking any names...

So far, so good. I am continuing to feel good. The baby is starting to kick a lot and Craig has been able to feel it more and more often. I cleaned my closet out yesterday and narrowed it down to about one shelf of items that still fit. I think I am going to need to do some shopping soon. I keep holding out for the warm weather.

Craig and I ventured to Babies 'R Us last weekend. Although he wanted to do everything online I did convince him he needed to try out things such as strollers because we are so tall. We made it through about seven items. When I turned in the scanner the lady at the store was very concerned. She said "Was everything alright? I see you only have seven items on your registry". I told her we were starting small :) I plan on calling on friends/family over the next few weeks with babies to figure out what I really need vs. what is just the "extras".

Nursery Updates

We moved the changing table up to the nursery today. It looks great! Now mom and I need to get busy sewing all the final touches. We have our work cut out for us.

Nasheville, TN

We returned today from a visit with Craig's parents in TN. We had a great time relaxing and seeing some sites. On our first day Craig and I took a trip to Kentucky to go to Mammoth Cave. It was really neat to see. The cave was HUGE. There were some very tight spots where I was thankful I was not more pregnant than I was. They should have that as a warning!

On Thursday evening we went to Puckett's Grocery. It is a little restaurant/grocery where they play live music. We got to enjoy bluegrass, bbq, and bourbon tasting (for Craig).

On Friday we headed to Lynchburg to tour the Jack Danielle's distillery. Lynchburg had a very cute downtown where we had lunch before the tour. Lynchburg is in a dry county so no tastings for Craig this time!

On Friday night we went to Bluebird Cafe and listened to some great up and coming artists. It was neat because we get weekly updates on the development of the baby. Last week before we left we got an email saying that the baby could now hear sounds. At Bluebird the baby either LOVED or HATED the music. It was kicking like crazy. Craig had felt the baby before, but this time he could really feel it moving around- very neat!

Changing Table Progress

There has been some progress made on the changing table. Craig and my dad said they will have it all glued and ready to be painted on Sunday. We will see... So far it is looking really great. I was able to put the baskets on it to get an idea of what it will look like when it is completed. Mom and I need to get busy sewing the new basket liners!

Week 17

I am almost to my 18th week. Here is an updated picture. I spent Friday night at my friend Lindsay's house. It was really nice to see her and spend some time together. Craig is at a guys golf weekend this weekend. Unfortunately it rained the entire time; he still had a great time though. My friend Anna and I went to Babies R Us for the first time. We test drove all the strollers and looked at all the baby gear. I have not been looking forward to going because I thought it would be very overwhelming. It ended up being fun and I am now looking forward to getting some stuff for the baby.

Cheri and Shane...

UPDATE: Adaline Kelly Brown was born early Saturday morning (2/14/2009). Although she is 2 months early mom and baby are both doing well. I can't wait to meet her!

Please keep our friends Cheri and Shane in your prayers over the next few days. Cheri is 30 weeks pregnant, but her water broke last night. They are in the hospital playing the waiting game now...
