Family Visit

We are fortunate to live close to Craig's great uncles and extended family. A few weekends ago we were able to visit with Craig's brother and family while visiting their extended family. Kay had a blast fishing and playing with the kids. She was too small to hold the big fishing poles so she found a stick and held it as if she were fishing. A big thank you to Aunt Pat for the yummy lunch!

Proud Mom!

As a mother you want lots of things for your child/children. I hope and pray for Kay a long life of health, happiness, and love. You strive to raise your children to be independent, love life, and be kind to others. You spend hours worrying about your children and worrying you are doing all the right things. You stay awake at night listening to make sure your children are healthy and sleeping peacefully. And then...you have little things happen that give you the inspiration to keep going and the glimmer of hope that all your hard work pays off. The giggles of a carefree 22 month old old, the smiles when you come home, a little girl practicing "I love you", a child so proudly pointing and saying "mommy".

Kay's daycare report this week was a perfect example of one of those glimmers. It stated "Kay was very helpful today. When her friend Maggie lost her shoes, Kay brought them to her."

Ok, I admit, my heart melted. It's the little things in life...

Favorite Things...

Some of my favorite things about the Spring are the strawberries and the roses in our front yard. We went strawberry picking as a family this weekend. Kay had a blast although she did not pick one strawberry. Her activities consisted of carrying the bucket (or dumping it out), sitting in the aisles, and eating them. By the end she was covered in red sweet juice! After picking a flat of berries each with our friends Hannah & Jimmy and their kids we made strawberry preserves at their house together. I think Kay might turn into a strawberry for how many she has eaten over the past few days.

I have been cutting the roses as they are ready so we can enjoy them in the house. They make the entire kitchen smell so nice!

A Rainy Day with Mom and Dad...

We had a rainy day a few weekends ago and we decided to make crackers. I was afraid Kay's attention span would last about two seconds (which it did) but we still had fun together as a family. My mom found my old apron she made me when I was little and Kay enjoyed wearing it. I can't wait for Kay to have her own some day. She loves cooking with us so much!

Easter

We spent Easter with Craig's family. We had an egg hunt at Scott and Annelise's and then had a nice dinner with everyone. We had to encourage Kay to pick up the eggs and look in them later. She kept wanting to stop and peek inside. Kay LOVED the pie pops shared with her.

We also tried going to the tv station gardens again to get some cute Easter pictures of Kay. She is a little girl on a mission! She is impossible to get to sit still now and is into everything. She had to check out every flower and would not look at the camera. It was a beautiful day and we had fun.

First Easter Egg Hunt

Kay enjoyed her first Easter Egg Hunt. Our neighborhood has an egg hunt each year for all the little ones. Last year she was not walking so she was unable to join in the fun. It was so neat to watch Kay. She kept calling them "ball" in the beginning and she was collecting as many as she could keep in her basket. Afterward she got excited again when she realized stickers and other fun goodies were inside!

We had some bad weather come through within miles of our house over the weekend. We are so thankful we did not have any damage. It was a little challenging getting an almost two year old to stay confined in a bathroom for almost an hour.

The porch is open again! We brought in all the cushions and pillows for pollen season. We scrubbed it over the weekend and it is so nice to be able to play outside again. Kay's newest activities are spinning around. She will turn in circles and then laugh when she gets dizzy. Whenever I set my phone down she picks it up, holds it to her hear and says "hi daddy".

Kay also started her new daycare this week. She seemed to really enjoy it. We laughed with her daily report from the first day because the teacher wrote that they were learning about various fruits and veggies. She said the class tasted tomatoes. I could only imagine Kay gobbling them up and asking for more. She LOVES tomatoes!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

We went out to breakfast as a family on Sunday to the Farmers Market. After breakfast we could not get Kay to leave the tractors. She had such a blast pretending she was driving then. We then went to buy some veggies for dinner. Kay helped us carry the bag of potatoes. Whenever she carries something she holds her arm straight up in the air so it will not slip off. Watching always makes me smile. She has also really enjoying taking care of her baby. She gives the baby water, diapers, medicine and takes it for walks. It is cute to watch how she is getting attached to her doll. Kay also loved helping her daddy eat birthday cake. She licked every finger clean!
